Cheryl was born in Toronto and grew up in a secular, assimilated family. In 1987, along with a movement to a religious lifestyle, she and her husband made aliyah with their young family, settling in the Gush region. In April 2003, Daniel, their middle son, was killed while arresting terrorists in Shechem (Nablus). A charismatic young officer of 24, his life and death influenced and inspired many people. After this, Cheryl felt the need for a change. She worked in hi-tech in Jerusalem and spent her nights performing for charity and speaking to groups about Zionism, overcoming adversity and life in Israel. Most recently, for the past two years, she has organized a large group, Tzevet Daniel, to participate in the Jerusalem Marathon in her son’s name. This group raises a large sum of money for various projects. Cheryl has been speaking for the past ten years about Daniel and the significance of his life and death. Cheryl will be speaking in many venues during the current visit, sponsored by One Family Fund, the leading Israeli organization that helps victims of terror and bereaved families.
