Brigadier-General (Res) Gal Hirsch is Deputy Director of the Israel Defence Force’s Depth Command – a unit formed in 2011 to coordinate the IDF’s long range operations and operations deep within enemy territory. Brigadier-General Hirsch is an expert on counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency and guerrilla warfare. He spearheaded Israel’s fight against terrorism for 25 years as commander of several elite units. He was decorated for activities which were highly acclaimed within Israeli security circles.
